Take listening to a whole new level

The FDA-cleared 3M Littmann CORE Stethoscope toggles between analog and amplified listening modes so you can listen how you want to during assessments. Tunable diaphragm technology—a 3M invention—lets you hear different frequency sounds by simply adjusting the pressure on the chestpiece. Hold the chestpiece with light pressure on the patient to hear low frequency sounds; press a little more to hear higher frequency sounds. Soft-sealing ear tips conform to individual ears for optimal comfort and excellent sound occlusion.

The 3M Littmann CORE Stethoscope works with Eko software on iOS and Android devices, giving you a HIPAA compliant means to save and annotate 15, 30, 60 or 120-second recordings in a secure dashboard. Create a library of heart sounds to monitor the progressions of a disease or for education, and securely share recordings with colleagues.

    After spending a few hours on the internet I didn't think that I would be able to get a stethoscope that would connect wirelessly to my bluetooth enabled hearing aids. That however, is exactly what the Littmann Core Stethoscope does. In my medical experience (I am a doctor: MD) the Littman cardioscope has always been an excellent instrument. If you are not wearing hearing aids, this instrument amplifies the heart and lung sounds very effectively. That part is unchanged. However, and this is the big news, you can disconnect the headphones from the stethoscope, turn on the Eko app on your bluetooth enabled cell phone (I have an Iphone), select start and connect the CORE device, choose either full cardiac exam or spot check (I prefer the full cardiac exam) and not only do you get a tracing of the heart rhythm, but the heart tones are crystal clear and easily identifiable. I can easily identify my very soft murmur of mild aortic stenosis. One important caveat: be sure that your phone volume setting is about 3 quarters of full volume to full volume. This is the most effective way to get full amplification of the heart tones. I am auscultating heart tones more effectively now (with my hearing impairment) than I was able to do when I had no hearing loss! It's that good. One other point, because you're not tethered to a stethoscope, you can keep a safe distance from those possibly infected patients. I plan to carry the headpiece of the stethecope in my pocket and just use it as such, without the ear pieces. Someone had commented in one of the reviews that I read that said the sounds were "scratchy". I did not experience this problem to any significant degree. You always get a little "scratchiness" with any stethoscope, when you move to different positions on the chest wall. One request of the manufacturer: it would be great if you could manufacture a small cap to cover the opening of the head of the stethoscope (where it connects to the headset tubes) so it doesn't get clogged up in my coat pocket. For all of you hearing impaired medical practitioners, I hope this helps!

    family practice doc for 20y. tried a Littmann cardiology III scope recently and its absolutely unusable compared to this monster. once you go electronic scope youll never use the old garbage again i assure you. been using an electronic for 2 decades. they break after 4-6y, last one broke, i tried to spend a bit less and got the Card III- mistake. returned in 48h. have been using this latest Littmann electronic and it’s UNREAL. just get it you have no idea what you’re missing, literally missing, in your physicals. had a patient with mod AS, using the Cardiology III i heard NO murmur. with this electronic it was clear and LOUD. love this scope!

    After two years of rigorous use, I feel thoroughly equipped to share my thoughts on the 3M™ Littmann® CORE Digital Stethoscope. As a pediatrician with aspirations to specialize in cardiology, I've found this tool to be indispensable in my day-to-day practice.

    Starting with its noise-cancellation feature, it's nothing short of a marvel. In a bustling pediatric ward filled with distractions, from crying infants to the hustle and bustle of medical professionals, this stethoscope ensures that what I'm hearing is the patient's heart and lungs, undistorted. The sound magnification further enhances this by giving clarity to even the faintest murmurs or respiratory irregularities, which is essential for early diagnosis and intervention.

    However, while the sound quality is genuinely outstanding, I would advise fellow practitioners to approach it with a bit of caution. The enhanced clarity can sometimes exaggerate particular heart sounds. This is especially significant for those less experienced, as it might lead them to mistakenly identify a regular heartbeat as a murmur.

    For a product that has catered to so many of my professional needs, I have only a couple of suggestions for improvement. Firstly, the diaphragm could be a tad sturdier. In its current form, it has a tendency to detach from the chest piece with minimal force.
    Given the often fast-paced environment of pediatric care, a more secure fit would be highly beneficial. Furthermore, a slightly extended tube length would offer better flexibility, especially when dealing with infants or children in various positions.

    In conclusion, the 3M™ Littmann® CORE Digital Stethoscope has proven itself as an exceptional tool for my profession. While there are areas for refinement, its foundational features remain unmatched, making it an invaluable asset for any serious medical practitioner.     I am so happy that I broke down and spent the money on this stethoscope. As a hospice nurse, working independently in the home field, it is important to be able to hear those sounds and be able to relay accurately back to the physician. With this stethoscope, I am able to do that. The sound quality is just amazing. Not to mention, if there is something that I don't know and want the physician to know, record and send.
